You never realize what being a mother can mean until the moment you become one. Life changes a lot and that includes your weight. Many women are paranoid about their weight after pregnancy. You can’t lose all the weight you gained over nine months in a jiffy. It is advisable that you be careful not to lose too much too quickly.
Here are some tips on how you can shed those extra pounds without negatively affecting your health.
Healthy nutrition
-Eat the right kind of food. During pregnancy we tend to splurge and devour everything we want. But after pregnancy, you should refrain from it. And for that you need to eat a well-balanced diet.
-Instead of eating two or three large meals, try having several smaller meals.
-Try to eat fresh fruits and vegetables as snacks instead of chips and fried foods.
-Drink a lot of water every day. Squeeze half a lemon and a teaspoon of honey into a glass of lukewarm water and drink it first thing in the morning. Avoid fizzy drinks.
-Drink water before meals so that your belly is partially full.
working out
-Try to practice yoga at home. This not only helps you lose weight but also helps increase your stamina and gives you peace of mind.
-Walking is the best and easiest exercise possible. Try taking your baby out in a stroller or baby carrier.
-You can start light exercises once you are fit enough. Try joining a gym for half an hour if you can find someone to babysit.
Breast-feeding
-Try to breastfeed your baby as long as possible as it is a good way to lose weight. On average, you can lose up to 500 calories per day.
Other ways
-Use the stairs instead of the escalator or elevator.
-If you are on the phone, try using a cordless and walk around the house.
-Park your car further from your destination and walk down.
-If you have a duplex house, try to go up and down as many times as you can.
Losing weight is never easy and it never happens fast. So don’t get frustrated and don’t give up easily.
