Many people go through life without asking themselves WHAT DO I REPRESENT? Ninety-five percent of the people alive today can’t give you a good reason for their existence. Are you among those who if asked; ”what is your purpose of being”, they will dare to tell you, I have a dream of doing this or that, but I am waiting for the resources or the right moment. But let me ask ourselves, how long will you be waiting for the right moment? When do you plan to start living that dream, because it is through your dream that you can fulfill your mission (purpose). Also know that having a dream and fulfilling a dream are two different things. If your dream doesn’t match your ability, it will turn into a nightmare.
IS YOUR DREAM REALISTIC?
Yes, whatever a man’s mind can conceive, man can achieve. Very true, every human being has so many talents and things that he thinks he can do. But there is one thing in particular that you can do better than anyone else, ”that’s your ASSIGNMENT”. An important fact is; when you figure out your assignment, that is, if you haven’t done it yet and you don’t have the aptitude or skill level to be the best in it, you’re going to have some real frustrations and you’re going to change your mind halfway through. For example, I personally like rap music and would love to be a great rapper. But I know I don’t have the breath control it takes to be a great rapper. If I force myself and continue with that dream, I’ll be wasting my time and that of my few fans. My problem will not be the lack of a dream; my problem is that I lack the ability to be the best in that field. (I know you’ll say it’s something I can learn) my goal is to find something you’re passionate about and be good at, “that’s your ASSIGNMENT”.
DON’T FOCUS ON YOUR WEAKNESS, BUT ON YOUR STRENGTH.
Many people work on their weaknesses and ignore their strengths. It is like a fish going to the “Olympic” hoping to win a gold medal in a bird flying competition, and a bird competing with the fish in swimming. It is an attempt in vain. If you are two at something, don’t spend a lot of time trying to improve in that area. If you work hard, you’ll only become average, and the world is full of average people, so average doesn’t sell.
Find something that can get you up to a seven or eight and make it a bill. People will always pay for excellence, before you start ask yourself whether or not you can do what you would like to do; you need to be honest with yourself, because you really know what you can do better. Find out first before investing your time, energy and money into it. Go for what you are passionate about.
To be effective in performing your task, you must work on yourself in a few key areas:
ATTITUDE; Your talent will open doors for you, but only your attitude can keep those doors open. If you have a bad attitude, work on it, because it will disqualify you. For example, simple courtesy can open doors for you.
DISCIPLINE; it can separate you from the crowd. For example, good time management, such as being punctual, can enhance your talent and make you more effective in performing your task. Eliminate habits such as procrastination, laziness and also a lack of initiative. They will hinder your growth.
RELATIONSHIP; If you are going to succeed in your task, you must have the right people around you. People with a healthy mindset, people who have traveled the lane you are about to travel. Get yourself a mentor.
Find something you love to do so much that you’re happy to do it for free, then learn how to do it so well that people are happy to pay for it. When you know your allowance, don’t worry about your benefit or payment. Do something you love to do and do it so well that after a while people pay you to do it. FIND YOUR ASSIGNMENT.
