Positive Thinking
Having positive thoughts in your life is important. Positive thinking is one of the most powerful things you can do. You have probably noticed that when you have a positive thought, it just seems easier to happen. Your body language changes, you smile more and everything seems brighter. Take some time out to really praise yourself for all the small things you do every day.
So how do you replace those Motivational Thoughts with positive ones? The first thing you need to understand is that pessimism is a choice. You can’t force yourself into feeling like you’re a pessimist. To change the way you think you must be willing to change how you feel about certain situations. It’s easy to put a band-aid over a broken arm, but if you keep on band-aiding it, the broken part always gets worse.
To change how you feel about something, you have to take a break from that situation. Replace it with something else. Replace the negative thoughts with positive qualities. If something bad happened to you, instead of dwelling on the negative qualities of that experience, replace them with positive thoughts of appreciation for the good things that happened to you. When you focus on positive qualities you’ll shift your mood and your energy in a way that will make those situations fade into the past.
Taking Control Of Your Mind And Health With Positive Thinking
Begin by replacing one negative thought with a positive one. Think about something that made you feel bad at some point and then imagine how it would make you feel if it happened again. Imagine how you would feel if that situation was no longer existent. What would you do differently? Would you still feel bad or would you feel better? If you don’t know what would make you feel better, you can use the exercise outlined above to discover your own personal ideal.
Another tool to help you shift your mindset is to regularly listen to positive affirmations. Self-talk is not a threat like the negative self-talk does. Positive affirmations encourage optimism because they remind you that no one has ever lived their entire life without doing any great or terrible things. They also provide you with an optimistic outlook on life. Instead of dwelling on negatives in life, consider the positives that will inevitably come your way.
Finally, practice optimism every day. If you are able to remain focused on your goals and realize that no matter what obstacles are in your way you can overcome them, you will feel good. Begin today by taking a few minutes each day to affirm that you can do whatever it takes to reach your goals. Over time you will be able to remove negative thoughts from your mind. Over time you will feel better and your self-esteem will also grow.
