There are many video game consoles available in the market for video game lovers. But most of them are unbranded. Even though Xbox 360 is the leading video game console, they face a lot of failures in the console. Many analyzes have been done to find the problem and it was found that the fault is due to overheating of the console. Due to overheating of the console, the motherboard chips get damaged and the whole board fails. The reason for the internal temperature is due to insufficient airflow inside the console. Lack of proper design and poor ventilation led to failure of the console’s hardware components. Microsoft hastily launched Xbox 360 just before Christmas to get more sales. The X-clamp located on the motherboard is the main problem. These X-clamps support the heat sinks to reduce heat and cool down the processors. But due to incorrect arrangement of X-clamps, the heat sinks are not working. Xbox has the special feature of indicating the status of the console, when it works perfectly or when it has problems. The four LEDs located around the power ring area will indicate the status of the console. Removing the X clamps will solve the red light problem. Overheating error will be indicated by red lights. This is known as Red Ring of Death or RRoD errors. This error causes the console to hang and the game freezes in game. Red lights also indicate different types of errors based on the number of flashing red lights in the power ring area.
Solution
You can repair the console on your own, without spending a lot of money. All you need to do is remove the XClamps from the motherboard to allow more atmospheric air to flow into the console from the bottom of the console. This is very easy to do and can be done in just an hour with the help of normal household tools like screwdrivers.
