Did you know that more than 40 million Americans have bad or bad credit? Did you also know that to be able to buy something of personal value it is necessary to have some type of credit? Vehicles, furniture, credit cards, gas cards, department store cards, jewelry, apartment or townhome rentals, and even getting a good job are reviewed and judged based on your credit score.
Another alarming event that is sweeping across our nation is the number of people who are falling victim to identity theft. I think it is wise to say that our credit is under attack. How is that you could say? There are many reasons for this, lack of discipline, lust and longing to have, trying to keep up with the Joneses, money mismanagement, overspending, impulsive purchases, spending more than you earn and so on. I’m sure you can fit into one, if not all, of these terrible categories.
Let’s face it, we live in a fast pace and we have to have it now, the society that dictates that if you don’t keep up you will be left behind. The truth of the matter is this, you are living in a delusion. You won’t be left behind, you don’t have to keep up with the Joneses or anyone else, and it’s impossible for a human being to run their own life while trying to keep up with the lifestyles of others.
It’s time to get back to where you started and start taking control of your own life. Understand the equation. Lack of income plus lack of discipline plus poor money management equals debt, leading to bad credit with the horrible benefits of bill collectors calling, bankruptcy, divorce, and ulcers. This is not the American way, so don’t get caught up in the deception. God bless America!
