All about the Bichon Frize puppy

May 20, 2022 by admin

After months and months of trying to figure out what kind of puppy you want and which ones are the cutest, you have finally decided to bring home a Bichon Frize puppy and you have your heart set on one in particular. But it is extremely important to know exactly what you are getting into. This dog has a mind of his own and will try to test you from time to time to see what he can and can’t do, just like a little kid.

Their stubbornness is something that will stay with them throughout their lives, even after they become adult dogs, so you had better be prepared to handle it. Bichon Frize puppies are cute, of course, but they take a lot of work to make them a great addition to the home that no one will regret.

The one thing that commonly causes people to turn around and run the other way when considering adopting a Bichon Frize puppy is the fact that it is very difficult to potty train them. Because it can take longer, there may be masses left over from the dog, which can actually cost you money if the carpet is destroyed. But it’s not that the dog can’t be trained, it just takes a little longer than with most other breeds.

So when you bring home your new family member, potty training may be the first thing you want to start. He tries not to let setbacks bother him too much, as it comes naturally no matter what kind of race he’s dealing with. Just provide the love and support a child would need when he is potty training and he will be well on his way to being a successful potty trained dog.

Although most people would laugh at this and consider it common sense, you’d be surprised how many people actually need to read this. Never hit, spank, spit on, yell at or abuse your Bichon Frize puppy, either emotionally or physically, abuse is abuse and it is against the law. Not only is it illegal, but it is extremely harmful to the pup and you will only get the opposite of what you want from the pup when you act that way.

You want your pup to respect you and see you as his master out of love and kindness rather than out of fear of abuse and fear of survival. If you’re treating your puppy the way you’d like to be treated, you’ll find that training sessions and chores go much faster and get better results than if your pet is afraid of you. Think twice before speaking in anger and always try to speak to your pet in a loving way.
