The Roadside Drug Test
In November of 2021, voters in Colorado approved the use of marijuana for medicinal purposes. This means that marijuana use will be legal in Colorado starting on January first, 2021. But what is delta-8 THC and why is it now illegal? Will delta-8 THC get you high as well? These are some of the many questions that continue to be asked about this new legalized recreational use of marijuana in Colorado.
The question of is thc delta-8 legal has been asked by many people who use the cannabis plant medicinally. They want to know if the cannabis plants that they grow at home is actually legal. Even those who use the plant recreationally want to know if the cannabis plants that they buy at the local supermarket or drug store is legal. Luckily there is a simple answer to the question of is thc delta-8 legal?
Yes, delta-8 THC and CBD are not legal yet because of the Colorado Supreme Court challenge. While we are awaiting the ruling on this latest challenge, one thing is clear. There is currently no scientific evidence showing that smoking marijuana is any more dangerous than smoking tobacco. This may change in the near future but for right now, there is no reason to stop using these two important substances. People in countries such as Japan, Russia, China, India and many other countries have been known to consume large amounts of cannabis with no ill effects.
Why the Delta-8 Legalizes Pot in America
While there are still many unanswered questions about the legality of cannabis in Colorado, it is safe to say that delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol and delta-8 THC are the two most important chemicals found in the cannabis plant. They are also the two most important chemicals found in the cannabis user’s brain. Many believe that the brain chemistry of cannabis users is so similar to the brain chemistry of drunk drivers that it may be harder to argue against the notion that THC and CBD are not legally considered drugs.
Since there is still no conclusive scientific evidence on the safety of ingesting cannabis, it is highly doubtful that any government will rush to take such measures to make the public safer. That said, there are a number of states who have already taken this issue into consideration by establishing a THC and CBD registry. As a matter of fact, marijuana use by minors is already illegal under federal legislation. While marijuana is illegal under federal legislation, it may be illegal under some state legislation. If a state attempts to establish a THC and CBD registry, it may be subject to legal challenges from other states.
Even though the prospect of THC and CBD becoming legal has some scientists worried, there is no reason to panic. The federal government has been extremely reluctant to interfere with private industry. However, if the CBD market receives a boost from a CBD-like product, the government may decide to step in and standardize the production process to create a standardized CBD formula. This would be a step in the right direction toward reducing the amount of roadside accidents caused by impaired drivers who have ingested CBD.
