The subject line will surely be taken as undiplomatic by most women, but facts are facts! There are many products that are specifically for women and have been somewhat forced by the typical hype in the form of commercials, movies, talk shows and the like. Just look at some of the things:
1. Hair dye – This product targets our insecurities about our appearance and although it is aimed at both men and women, it is more patronized by the fairer sex. Does it take a science degree to know that these dyes contain chemicals? We all know. Even if some of the dyes are marketed as natural, reading the fine print will reveal that they contain only trace amounts of some natural element, but most are pure chemicals. And these are potentially harmful to the scalp, causing skin allergies and irritation, breakage, and discoloration.
two. stiletto heels – They raise the heels and transfer most of the weight to the front, that is, to the toes. This can lead to swollen feet and almost certainly chronic back pain if used for long periods of time. Not only this, they also make it difficult to walk and are intended only when worn for outings that involve simply sitting or lounging.
3. Push up bras – They only have one purpose. So that the bust line looks good. This is where the use ends. Every woman knows that the breasts are sensitive to circulation, and anything she tends to squeeze or pinch using artificial means such as wires and nylon has adverse effects. One cannot wear it for long because it would hinder the blood circulation a bit. Also, they are against nature.
Four. Lip fillers – A pretty pout is every woman’s dream. But why? Because it sells. After all, how else would cosmetic companies make a profit? So they come out with such products. However, very few know how lip plumpers work. They contain ingredients like menthol and camphor that irritate delicate skin, causing your lips to swell slightly, giving them that full look. They actually result in delicate and thin skin.
5. spanx- These are the “shape wears” that are expected to give women a slim appearance. It tightens the flab to make it look shapely, but anyone with common sense can tell that it would also lead to constricted blood flow. Is that good?
6. The curling iron – These are handheld gadgets that are usually spring-loaded and made of metal, tourmaline, or titanium. They are used with a power supply and typically reach temperatures up to 200 or even 400 degrees. And the purpose? To curl the hair! What would happen if it touched any other part of the body? It gets damaged. So just because you don’t feel the heat on your hair doesn’t mean it won’t damage your hair. You smell burning, don’t you?
Needless to say, these are just some of the things that are not necessary but have become a part of every woman’s daily lifestyle. There are many things that we don’t need but we go ahead with them for various reasons. Time to rethink.
