How to play the guitar is a dream that I had for many, many years. There was something about him that was “cool.” The problem was, he just didn’t know where to start. If you are just starting out, you will undoubtedly face the same problems as well. There’s the problem with guitar chords (where your fingers seem challenging to do what your mind tells them to do), how to read guitar tabs, etc. Back then, you wish you had access to free online guitar injuries, but there was no such thing … we are talking about the internet before here!
Recently, there has been a huge increase in material showing you how to learn to literally play yourself “overnight”. Overnight? That’s a bold claim, but I can tell you that from my own experience, you can do it. All you need are easy to follow instructions. Hey, even an ordinary person like me, if I was just starting out I could do it and I have friends who have recently started learning to play guitar who are really good in just a few weeks.
When you do a little research, you will find hundreds of thousands of guitar lessons online and offline. While this is good in one sense, it is also time consuming to have to go through pages and pages of Internet sites, and on the other hand, you need to be on the Internet to perform searches. The other option is your local library, where I found a host of very useful books on how to learn to play guitar on your own.
Today, at the bookstore or your local library, the literature on learning to play guitar on your own is available in many practical formats, but your best bet in your quest to learn to play guitar is within yourself and how much you practice. There is an old saying that goes, “Practice makes perfect” … I found that even when I try to learn to play the guitar on my own, this is also very true.
When I started, all I had was very old acoustics and it usually went out of tune anyway. However, that did not discourage me. The truth is that the only way to quickly and easily learn to play the guitar is through regular practice. I don’t care what other people say about how to learn to play guitar, electric, bass or whatever, the secret is to practice, practice and even more practice.
I play in church, at events, and I never started learning tabs and all that. I discovered some shortcuts that worked for me and other friends of mine and I literally learned to play guitar overnight!
You can also do it when you know how, but you will still have to practice.
