T-Mobile’s BlackBerry Curve 9360, which was announced to the public on August 23, 2011, is set to hit the market on September 28, 2011. The BlackBerry Curve 9360 is already the fourth T-Mobile phone to use the new BlackBerry 7 operating system, the first three being the BlackBerry Bold 9900, the BlackBerry Torch 9860 and the BlackBerry Torch 9810. The latest smartphone from T-Mobile is a slimline phone designed for the younger market. With dimensions of 109 x 60 x 11mm and weighing 99g, the BlackBerry Curve 9360 is T-Mobile’s sleekest and most elegant smartphone.
Like previous T-Mobile Curve smartphones, the BlackBerry Curve 9360 still has the exact same type of keyboard and optical trackpad. The 5-megapixel camera, which can capture images and videos with a resolution of 2592 x 1944 and has a geotagging feature, is located on the back of the smartphone. The camera button can be located on the side along with the volume control button, all buttons are rubberized and do not stand out much. This time, T-Mobile has placed the headphone jack on the top of the smartphone, which will probably be more convenient for users who love to put their BlackBerry in their pockets while listening to music. The screen, on the other hand, has a 2.44-inch TFT screen with a resolution of 480 x 360.
As mentioned above, the BlackBerry Curve 9360 will work with the updated BlackBerry 7 operating system. With is a 800 MHz processor CPU and a 512 MB RAM. There is nothing new with the updated operating system other than the improved speed. The BlackBerry Curve 9360 will also have the BlackBerry 7 Webkit browser. Unfortunately, despite being the most improved Webkit browser, it tends to be slow. It can lag and freeze while full versions of websites load and images take a while to display. However, the BlackBerry’s messaging features are still as amazing as ever. Enhancements to the operating system will allow users to conveniently switch between BlackBerry Messenger 6, email and SMS at will. Also noteworthy is the integration of Facebook and Twitter.
The Curve 9360’s media section is also amazing, allowing users to easily flip through music tracks despite random trackpad navigation. Users would also have no difficulty searching for their favorite music track as they would be able to locate it quickly. Despite not being a smartphone designed for video bingeing, the BlackBerry Curve 9360 provides high-quality video that loads quickly. It would not have a touch screen feature like most of the smartphones on the market. However, the BlackBerry Curve 9360 has the ability to compete with smartphones within its price range. The BlackBerry Curve 9360 will be available in black and merlot colors (launching on October 12).
