Dublin is located on the east coast of Ireland. It is a very vibrant and young European city that has much to offer the visitor, whether on a long vacation or a short weekend break. Over the last decade it has grown in popularity and is among the most popular weekend destinations in Europe. It offers many unique places and atmospheres to entice the visitor to spend more time doing the popular attractions and having fun.
With so much to do, you really need to plan your time on a visit to this city. There are many exhibitions, museums and architecture not found in many other big cities in Europe.
1. Guinness Store House
This is probably one of the most popular tourist attractions in Dublin. It is located at St. James’s Gate in Dublin and is easily accessible from the city center on foot, by tram, by bus or by taxi. During the year it can attract more than 500,000 tourists a year and is located right in the heart of the famous Guinness brewery. You really get a sense of history when you visit and can take a tour that explains how Arthur Guinness signed a 9,000 year lease on the property at an annual fee of around $50 each year for rent.
It gives you an amazing insight just by looking at the architecture of how the Guinness brewing process was achieved. The building is now the tourist fashion that was previously used for fermentation. In general, the seven-store warehouse with a wonderful view of the city from the top floor called “The Gravity Bar”
2. Temple Bar
Located right in the center of the city, just on the south side of the River Liffey, you will come across Temple bar. It is a wonderful location right in the heart of the city offering many restaurants with a variety of menu selections from around the world. There are many burners that offer live music, traditional music and everything in between. It’s more or less the cultural corner of Dublin and definitely worth a visit at night when it’s alive and well.
3. Grafton Street
No trip to any major city could be made without visiting the heart of the business district. Grafton Street’s main attraction is its shops offering many unique department stores and in total there are over 100 shops to choose from.
On any given day, you can hear street musicians playing music from a variety of styles. Many famous Irish musicians have played on Grafton Street and you’d be surprised if you could stumble upon it while walking down this street. Just name an Irish musician and you’re guaranteed to have played Grafton Street on some stage.
